New Era for PBX Hosting following £4.5m deal
Successful Coventry-based telecommunications firm PBX Hosting Ltd has become part of TelcoSwitch as part of a £4.5m deal providing a strong platform for continued growth.
TelcoSwitch, the leading provider of hosted voice, unified communications and compliance solutions, acquired PBX in a deal that was negotiated for start to finish in just eight weeks – and took place entirely over 3CX.
Coventry-based PBX Hosting offers both VoIP systems and 3CX, an easy-to-use unified communications platform linking colleagues anywhere in the world.
It incorporates internet phones, instant messaging, video conferencing, and a host of other features in one cost-effective package – a solution which has really come into its own over the past 12 months with more and more people working remotely.
Since PBX Hosting was first launched in 2014, the company has gone from strength to strength, growing by 35% year on year.
Founder Stuart Gibson, a local entrepreneur who has more than 20 years in telecommunications, says it is an exciting move for PBX and will enable us to further expand our offering.
He said: “We have a winning combination of a simple, flexible, and cost-effective system and our dedicated and talented staff in Coventry.
“TelcoSwitch is the ideal home for PBX Hosting because both our companies are aligned on ethos, technology and how we support our partners. We cannot wait to get started in enhancing our offering to our collective partners and customers.
“We secured all jobs as part of the deal, will stay in Coventry at our Burnsall Road site, and the PBX brand so many have come to trust will remain.
“Our new partnership will provide PBX with access to a sizeable marketing department and a wider array of expertise, while TelcoSwitch now enjoys a regional office in the heart of the UK.
“I am looking forward to continuing to be at the helm of PBX Hosting as we achieve even bigger and better things.”
Another strength that drew TelcoSwitch’s eye was PBX’s security. Customers have turned to the company because there are fears about the safety of data shared by unsecured conferencing software.
3CX provides clients with a dedicated server that is isolated from other customers, so all internal communications are encrypted – unlike other conferencing apps and systems.
And the hub of PBX Hosting’s infrastructure is based in Telehouse in London’s Docklands, giving the company direct connections to all the major networks in the UK and internationally. This means customers can enjoy perfect quality and reliable phone calls with automatic backups and disaster recovery in place.
Russell Lux, CEO at TelcoSwitch, said: “The PBX Hosting team have built a successful business, underpinned by great technology and a loyal customer base. We’re looking forward to welcoming them into the TelcoSwitch Group and exploring the opportunity to add further value to their customers and partners through the wider product portfolio.”
